10 Things to do When Unemployed
What is a middle-aged mom wantreprenuer to do?
- Write a children's book. Don't all moms go through this phase after having a child or two? Me. "Oh I'm so creative as a parent let me tella you a children's story."
- Revive an old business or hobby. Or watch Flea Market Flip and think I will re-purpose junk.
- Calculate unemployment over and over. Yep still no more money than the last calculation on my calculator. Damn it feels stupid to even use a calculator to figure the weekly sum. Not lump sum just so we are clear.
- Cry.
- Download an e-book on how to trade options but never read it.
- Stay with me... I'm being as honest a possible!
- Go through the list of skills you don't have, "I can't do this, I can't do that." Or my fave - Imagine what you could be like George Costanza in Seinfeld. Architect anyone?!
- Contemplate baby-sitting for supplemental income although I can't imagine having a 3rd child around.
- Contemplate doing some sort of voyeuristic porn like pumping breast milk while ironing in my tummy control panties, no? Well I have to admit when I watch Shameless I am envious of the ways the characters come up with to make money. Just saying..
- Troll Facebook at 3 a.m. or Dlisted, I prefer the later. Every time I go onto Facebook someone has posted an "online sticker" with an inspirational quote on it! WTF is this the best middle-aged people can come up with?
